Super Angel 5500 Juicer Review:
The Super Angel 5500 Living Juice Extractor is one of the highest quality twin gear juicers on the market. The Super Angel is built using high-quality stainless steel throughout, its twin gears rotate at a slow 86RPMs to produce juice that retains enzymes due to the minimal heat build-up from the slow gear rotation. The stainless-steel twin gears are some of the most durable available, they will easily juice anything you throw at them, and will produce a large amount of juice yield in a short amount of time.
About Angel Juicers:
Angel has been manufacturing juicers for going on 40 years; bringing their first juicer to market in 1983 Angel has continuously improved their juicers over time, in 1991 they released their electronically operated model and iterated multiple times since. Over the years they have brought a few different models to market, the most recent being the Angel 8500 or Super Angel Premium Deluxe made completely of SUS 316 Stainless Steel, also known as surgical stainless steel. We will discuss each model and variation in detail below.
Angel Juicers are manufactured in a small factory in South Korea. Angel only builds 3 models of juicers: The Angel 5500, Angel 7500, and the Angel 8500. If you are researching Angel juicers you will also come across different variations named the Super Angel Plus, Super Angel Pro, Super Angel Deluxe and Super Angel Premium Deluxe. This review will clear up any confusion you may have about the different models and variations.
Let us start by jumping into a comparison of the 3 different models of juicers that Angel manufactures.
Angel Juicer Model Comparison (5500, 7500, and 8500):
There are more similarities than differences when comparing the 3 models of Angel Juicers. All 3 Angel juicer models have the same 3 HP motor, same style stainless steel twin gears, same accessories, they will all produce the same juice yield and quality of juice, and they are all made of stainless steel; however, one model provides an even higher quality surgical stainless steel.
Super Angel 5500:
The Angel 5500 model is the base model, but do not worry this base model packs a punch. The 5500 is built of SUS304 stainless steel, also known as food grade stainless steel or “18/8” which stands for its chemical make-up of 18% Chromium and 8% Nickel. It has a 3HP motor and stainless-steel twin gears that rotate at 86RPM’s. It has a manual reverse mode that can be turned on if the juicer begins to jam and has safety sensors to prevent damage to the machine.

Super Angel 5500 Vs 7500:
The Super Angel 7500 has all the same features of the Super Angel 5500, but it includes an automatic reverse function that will automatically engage if the juicer begins to jam. Truly little difference between the two, the 7500 simply is a touch more user friendly due to the automatic reverse function.

Super Angel 5500 Vs 8500:
The Super Angel 8500 has all the same features of the 5500, it also has the automatic reverse function that is included on the Angel 7500 model. The Angel 8500 and Angel 7500 are technically identical. The main difference of the Super Angel 8500 when compared to the Angel 7500 is the type of stainless steel it is made of. The Angel 8500 is made of SUS316 stainless steel, also known as surgical stainless steel. SUS316 has a chemical make-up of 18% Chromium and 12% Nickel, the additional 4% of Nickel makes the machine tougher, easier to clean and it will stand up to harsh chemicals and salts better.

Overall, the 3 Angel juicers are remarkably similar. Honestly, I would choose the base model Angel 5500 as I do not believe the additional auto reverse function or higher-grade stainless steel justify the additional investment. The comparison table below will help you visually depict the differences between the Angel 5500, 7500, and 8500 juicers.

Angel Juicer Plus, Pro, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe Comparison:

Super Angel Plus:
The Super Angel Plus is the Angel 5500 model, there is no difference.

Super Angel Deluxe:
The Super Angel Deluxe is the Angel 7500 model with an included soft fruit attachment. The soft fruit attachment is the same as the standard screen housing but with bigger holes. The soft fruit attachment is ideal for juicing soft fruits and vegetables such as grapes, berries, citrus, and cucumbers, etc. Do note that due to the bigger holes your juice will have more pulp.

Super Angel Premium Deluxe:
The Super Angel Premium Deluxe is the Angel 8500 model, which includes the anti-jamming auto reverse function and is made from higher quality SUS316 Surgical Stainless Steel.

Number one is the price, this is not an entry level priced juicer, however, this juicer is built extremely well with high-quality materials and is a top pick for juice yield and nutrient extraction.
Number two, since it is built completely of stainless steel it is a bit heavy, weighing in at 27lbs. If you are going to set it and forget it in one spot, I wouldn’t worry about, however, if you will be moving it in and out of a cabinet you may want to consider the weight.
Final Thoughts on the Super Angel 5500:
Overall, the Super Angel 5500 twin gear stainless steel juicer is a top-notch juicer. While this juicer is not cheap it is incredible. When you combine the fact that it is built of 100% stainless steel, has large twin gears that are fully stainless steel, and extracts more juice and nutrients than the competition, the price is justified. If you are going to juice once a month, this is probably not the juicer for you, but if you are looking for a well built machine that you can use day in and day out to improve your health, I would stop your search now and purchase the Super Angel 5500 Juicer.
In my opinion, the Super Angel 5500 is the Angel Juicer model that I would purchase, I do not believe the additional price is justified for the auto reverse function on the Super Angel 7500 or the upgraded surgical stainless steel the Super Angel 8500 is built with.
